A bright garnet color, the wine displays lots of juicy, assertive cherry/blackberry fruit, which is accompanied by ne notes of mocha spice, sweet oak, and just a touch of new leather. On the palate, it is dense and rich, with additional black fruit suggestions, as well as a note of licorice and baking spices. Tannins are soft enough to allow for immediate drinking, though the wine should easily hold for an additional ve years. At the table, it will partner very nicely with all red meats, though with lamb it’s especially spectacular. Also very enjoyable with game and poultry; it is versatile enough to accompany barbeque in the summer, or a ragout of winter vegetables when the weather gets chilly.

Only 12 of these wines were retailed at $12 or less, 6 of these were Cartlidge and Browne! The quality is there to be tasted in all wines both red and white, Robert Parker Jr pays particular note to the Chardonnay which rates as, One of the two best Chardonnay values in the world.
