Recognised in Decanter World Wine Awards 2005, as one of Austria's top winemakers. Modern up-to-the-minute equipment is used at this fantastic winery. The white wines are matured in stainless steel tanks, and most of the reds in barriques, some of which are even made from oak from their very own trees. In the vicinity of Lake Neusiedl and enclosed by three ranges of hills, the prevailing microclimate is such that, with the necessary winemaking skills, good wines can be made great. The deep, loamy soil produces red wines of a quality hard to find elsewhere. However, the stony, chalky soils offer ideal conditions for a light, fruity white wine to develop to perfection.
